A Celebration of Contemporary Asian Australian Art
Discover the depth and range of relationships and artistic exchange that exists between Australia and Asia in Crossing Boundaries – a fascinating exhibition of work from Asian Australian artists in celebration of Chinese New Year.
Working in mediums as diverse as painting, sculpture, photography, multimedia, performance, installation and ceramics, participating artists reflect upon individual journeys taken, boundaries crossed and new territories explored.
Curator Catherine Croll has also included a dedicated children’s program featuring Festival Ambassador William Yang’s Australia Now (generously loaned by the Artist and the Queensland Art Gallery I Gallery of Modern Art), and Pamela See’s Horsing Around.
Visit the exhibition to see the original oil painting Safety & Peace in Four Seasons, the stunning artwork by Chinese Australian artist Hu Ming, which is featured on the banners throughout the city for this year’s festival.
The program also includes lively daily floor talks and artist forums.
